Right from the very beginning, we recognised the importance of creating a fun and happy working environment for us all. The job you do is so valued and so important, and so paying the living wage with the added bonus of staff benefits has always been top on our manifesto.
Living Wage
We’re proud to be a Real Living Wage employer and pay everyone at least the Real Living Wage.

This means that we support you with your training, for example: Level 3 training, Early Years Teacher Status training, SEND training or anything else in which you have an interest that would benefit RiB. We will also provide career opportunities within the business.
Have a chat with your manager if you’d like to find out more.

What is counselling?
Counselling is a talking therapy. A service that provides a confidential, non-judgmental, supportive and safe space for people to talk about and work through their feelings, emotions and mental health challenges. These might include….
Anxiety and panic
Managing depression
Coping with stress
Bereavement and loss
Relationship issues
Emotional issues
If you have severe mental health concerns, the service may refer you to a GP or another service.
Company Pension
Did you know that to help people save more for their retirement, all employers are now required by law to provide a workplace pension scheme and pay money into it?
Our company's statutory pension is with Nest Pensions. This means that 5% of your monthly salary is contributed to the fund by the employee and 3% of your salary from the employer so the total monthly contribution to your pension fund is 8%. You can pay more than 5% into your pension if you wish to.
For more information, speak to the Accounts team and you can find out more here:

Enhanced Maternity
Policy
We have enhanced maternity policy in excess of the statutory provision. Read our Maternity Policy for more info.
Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP) lasts up to 39 weeks. This is made up of six weeks at 90% of the employee’s average weekly pay and then 33 weeks at statutory pay.
If you qualify for SMP, Raised in Bristol is pleased to be able to offer the following maternity pay for the 39 week period: six weeks at 90% of your average weekly pay, followed by 24 weeks SMP plus a Raised in Bristol top-up to reach 50% of your average weekly pay per week, followed by a further nine weeks at statutory pay.
If you make the decision not to return to work after your maternity leave, we will ask you to repay Raised in Bristol’s top-up contribution to your maternity pay. You will be entitled to the statutory provision whether you return to work with us or not. We will talk you through this showing actual amounts and give you all the information you need.
Childcare Discount
At Raised In we want to help with your childcare, we offer a 50% discount in RIB nurseries for everyone who works with us on a permanent contract.
Holidays
28 days holiday (inc bank holidays, FTE)
Christmas off
Raised In is closed between Christmas and New Year; these extra days off are an additional gift to all team members and are not included as a bookable part of your annual leave entitlement.
If you want to know more about any of your benefits, just talk with your manager.
We’re all happy to help!
Your Birthday and
well-being day
Even if you’re trying to ignore getting another year older, we think birthdays should still be enjoyed! So, in addition to your annual leave, we’ll also give you a day off for your birthday. If your birthday is not a normal working day for you, then you’ll be able to take a day off as close to your birthday as possible. It’ll need to be taken within a month of your birthday, and you’ll need to request it from your manager. Once approved by your manager, it’ll be added to your calendar on Brightpay. It can’t be carried forward.
Everyone in the team is also entitled to one Wellbeing Day per year. This is not an additional day's holiday, but to recognise that we sometimes just need a day to reset and recuperate, even if we aren’t physically unwell. You’ll need to request this in advance via your manager, giving at least two weeks' notice, and your manager will book this off for you; again, like your birthday day, you can’t book this in Brightpay.
Fun times
And let’s not forget our great staff parties and celebrations and of course the supplies of coffee, tea and biscuits in the staff rooms!
Enhanced Paternity
Policy
We now have an Enhanced Paternity Policy in excess of the statutory provision. Read our Paternity Policy for more info.
If you qualify for Statutory Paternity Pay (SPP), Raised In is pleased to offer Enhanced Paternity Pay (EPP) for the two week period, to 90% of your average weekly earnings if statutory paternity pay would be less than this.
If you make the decision not to return to work after your Paternity Leave, or if you leave within 12 months of returning from Paternity Leave, we will ask you to repay Raised In’s top-up contribution to your paternity pay. You will be entitled to the statutory provision whether you return to work with us or not. We will discuss this with you, showing actual amounts and providing you with the information you will need.
