At Raised in Bristol we recognise the importance of a balanced, nutritious diet in a child’s development.

As well as providing a chef-cooked menu that supports the children’s nutritional needs, we teach them about healthy lifestyles too.

Children in our Raised in Bristol nurseries are exposed to a wide range of healthy and delicious dishes, with learning via food embedded into our curriculum.

Nutritionally balanced and seasonal

Our four-week rolling menus are created by Cucina Bambini, the dedicated early years kitchen from the Bianchis Group, headed up by Chef Ben Harvey who has many years of experience in educational catering. The Bianchis group is a local family-run business who are renowned for their fresh seasonal Italian food and well-loved Bristol restaurants.

Catering to all dietary requirements and allergens our food is created in a nut-free kitchen at the Bianchis Group’s central catering unit. All recipes are cooked with very little salt and sugar and no additives by Cucina Bambini’s team of highly skilled chefs with an expert dedicated knowledge of nutrition in education.

Cucina Bambini sources produce from local farms and suppliers, ensuring that their dishes are always bursting with flavour, and remain true to our principles of buying locally and sustainably. Their passion for great food is evident in the dishes they serve and they take pride in helping children to open up their taste buds to new flavours. 

Our menus are designed to be representative of the diverse cultures found in Bristol and offer the children new and familiar flavours from across the world. Understanding the world is a core part of the Early Years curriculum, and we encourage children to learn about a wide range of cultures through their food. 

If your child does a full day at nursery they will have a mid-morning snack, lunch, an afternoon snack and tea. Children doing half-day sessions will have one snack time and a main meal.
